Dhruv Airtel shouldnt have made it easier for people to get simcards in J&K because every one knows how sensitive that state is. Besides how did the militants get simcards that were supposed to be owned by a soldier? Is it because of curruption in the military itself? Or is it that our military is so poor that militants can steal something as small as a simcard from them too? The Military should carry out an investigation on how the militants got simcards issued to Indian soldiers.

Amit Khandelwal One thing which it highlits that it is easy for a Military guy to get the SIM Card, rather Airtel to tighten their process while giving the SIM card based on a strong Verification is one step towards avoiding Misuse.

As the Crime and death poll is increasing in Shrinagar,it's an idea that any cellular company add one more level of Verification as to get an Approval for the person who wants to acquire the card from his Department head in the Official Letter Head(Govt or Private Employee) and for Business man from the Commerce of Chamber or his Union Office. This i think will give a sense of Reposibility for the Issuer and also for the person who take the New SIM to avoid Missue of Card and to an Extenet it will also help the Indain Police and Army to Reduce the Increasing no of Death Poll.

Sumit Ghosal It's a disaster for the way a facility exclusively for the security agencies were leaked to the militants.I wonder now whether it could be a strategy to make the lives of our security forces more tedious and difficult. The advent of the mobiles would have allowed the troops to stay in contact with their family raising their morale sky high. This would have affected the militants so they skewed the process with airtel. We need to identify the culprits and punish them sternly.

more Saurabh I think so best way to prevent misuse is to give only post paid connections there and Airtel shouldn't be allowed to operate in J&K. Its a good policy to allow only goverment agency there.

priyan There is an old saying, hope still somebody in India may remember” Think Twice before do anything". In Kashmir it should be Think Thrice before do anything. When I heard about mobile network in Kashmir, I talk to my father that how we could make it sure that it will not reach wrong hands. It is quiet unfortunate circumstance as our soldiers struggling to crackdown the terror in Valley and we provide easy communication facility to terrorists to operate more conveniently. When we will improve or it is still a dream?
