amn Mr Bakul Dholakia may be pulling a fast one on Laloo! It is perhaps a sarcastic way of pointing out to the current crop of students at the IIM-A,on how not to run things. As for Laloo's success in turning around the Indian Railways,my considered opinion is that the credit should go to the hundreds of middle level and top managers who have worked magic and ensured the turnaround! At most Laloo, having seen the failure of his model in Bihar, must have given them a free hand to do what they knew best! There is no question of Laloo knowing how to govern, all he can do is to distribute freebies from a depleting state treasury! His philosophy is to snatch what he cannot obtain through merit! He has no will or even knowledge to go about increasing revenue, else he would not have brought Bihar to its'current status! The Indian Railway staff has proved once again how they can turn the Rlys around only if given a free hand!

Sandeep I am an MBA from IIM myself support getting Lalu to come and speak.

Even the world reputed economist magazine has covered the indian railways turnaround as a model to be followed. Lalu is ofcourse is a very intelligent guy - earlier he seemed to be using his mind in making money for himself and fortunately his mind seems to have turned in the right direction.

RCS Has the standard at the IIM gone so low that they have to rely on Lalu to give lectures?, Lalu that epitomises misrule, corruption and criminalisation, or this is a case of syccophancy at its best? Perhaps an intellectual bankrupcy at the IIM?!!!

more Kamal Shukla What I have watched in Lalu that he minus Rabri & Company, is a fantastic player having hell of shots in his armoury. Only when he is surrounded by his in laws cacus and Rabri, he starts non senses.
He is a very capable administrator and a wonderful salesman apart fom his natural instinct of jokery

MK Indian Railways sells a product which is a "need" of over 2/3 rd of India's over 1 bn population. There are no other sellers. By design, IR will make any amount of profit it wants. Its the systematic skimming by politicians / employees and travelling public(stealing property and ticketless travel) that causes this venture to make losses. Regardless of their political adventures, Lalu or for that matter any Railway Minister certainly has enough authority to "set things right" even for a very small period of time and paint the a/c books black.

Stubborn This proves " Akla se Bhains Badi hai" (Buffalo is bigger than knowledge). That's why "Chara Khao Bhains Ban Jao" ( eat fodder and become buffalo). Has he ever been to his non-starter "Charwaha Viswavidyalaya" to give a lecture.IIM Ahmedabad's Director must reaserch this. CNNIBN must investigate and telecast this.

more INTENSIVEKS THEY CAN APPOINT LALU PARSHAD(the unpad gawar from Bihar)as the Honorary President For Life of the Indian Institute of Management. Also LALU is available to replace NARAYANA MURTHY in INFOSYS! IT WOULD BE BEFITTING THE "QUOTA-RAJ" OF YOUR MERA BHARAT MAHAN! I THINK LALU IS ON HIS WAY TO BECOME "RASHTRAPATI OF INDIA" AFTER ABDUL KALAM's imminent retirement. LALU's impromptu speech to all the "elite"of the IIM could run like this: "PADKAR LIKHKAR KYA KAROGE....BHOOL JAAO SAB KUCH YAD NAHIN AB KUCH....SAB KE SAB BHAICHARE OF THE INDIAN INSTUT OF MANAGEMENT...CHARA KHANESE BHINS NAHIN BANTE...IIM BAN JATE....."
