Karan Thapar is a chocolate canon. Has he ever met or known any British working class person to speak on their behalf? They are not racist, Jade Goody is.

Look at it other way. It is the U.K. who debates and shows lots of concern for such public concern. Results are out majority who applied, against racism with their regulators, are Brits. There are always a bunch of ppl who make you think and draw conclusion for the community as a whole. Things are more complex and offending in other parts of europe than in England. At the same time there are also good ppl too.

Shilp won the Match…
She sold the sentiments of Indians for cheap publicity and she got it.
Channel 4 got a lot of attention for its boring soap…
We Indians need to approach things intelligently than emotionally…
It is fact that Indians and Asians are most hated people in this universe…at least in Europe and America.
But it is a reality and we including our government are also responsible for this situation.

the whole episode of Shilpa Shetty and whether Britain is an racist country is an old story...evryone here knows they will never change they are racist BIGTIME.....its the stupidity of we Indians who give them too much of importance when they come here but we like to show the world we are a hospitable nation and will take any shit from any outsider....I hope this episode of racialism has tought our country men how to treat everyone the same and give due importance when we see a foreigner in our country...i hope all the hotels and resort owners & workers learn to respect their own origin first then others...good lesson for all of us ..we are no longer smaller or lesser by any level in front of these Brit's or any of the nations.....Good we have proved a point ...Respect is a Two Way Traffic Give & Take.....

Hi Naveen,i really appreciate ur comments and im with u.....U r absolutely right first we have to learn some manners and we have to show respect among ourselves, even i saw many times in so many tourist places where people r giving respects to foreigners rather than own country men.It should be stopped first atleast now we have to learn something. Excellent comments naveen.

ask ur self why they so racists to Indians ,well if you been there you see some indians wanting to behave like they in India ,they will not stand in lines they spit on the roads they litter so why should they not get mad at us ,its because of some Indians we all get a bad name so who is to blame? and yes we treat them like gods when they come here so whose fault is that ,not their fault.

Forget racism for a moment, that’s not the only way of attacking a community, here I have experienced that Indian word is synonymous to poverty for the Britons. They love talking about the plights of poverty stricken people back home in order to establish their superiority whereas they don’t consider the fact that a large part of their own population lives on government benefits and pensions inc. of youngsters, single mums, unemployed youth and many more( simple way of earning money in the UK is don’t work and have your excuse ready, thereafter every month you ll be entitled to some amount of money which is enough to eat, drink, dope, enjoy life, call yourself rich and also gossip about the poverty stricken world in your free time). Forget common Britons, recently Tony Blair while addressing World Economic Forum stated that‘…so they can spread the prosperity they are creating to the millions in those countries still in poverty’ (in context to India and China). Yes, Mr. Blair we know we have people living in poverty but you dont need to ascertain that screaming in front of the world all the time or probably Mr Blair is more concerned about these rapidly growing economies almost set to engulf tiny tots like Britain soon.
By the way Ms. Shetty has just won the crown. (Just an attempt to save themselves after being fazed ) Nav

Bravo!!! Karan you left the high commissioner perhaps Britain at complete loss of words, same as a thief caught in red trying to defend himself. Racism is apparent in Britain’s day to day life and I am sure every Indian living in Britain would agree to my statement. I have been in the UK for quite a while now and contrary to my belief before leaving home, I have experienced racism every now and then either in its direct or indirect form at work ,in shops( roam around in a shop for a while & they ll start looking at you suspiciously as if you are a shoplifter) and even in the University (despite of the fact that Indians pay three times more fee compared to their counterparts ).
