Yes its a great job IBN is doing , but had a question about how reliable these NGO's are you keep hearing about the scamsters, i mean i would like to donate money but scares me if its not going to reach the needy and is going to be siphoned off by someone.

This is founded by Baba Amte, very well known for his selfless services. He reminds one of Mother Teresa. I have read about him. Going by his name, I think it is very trust-worthy.

I belong to that unfortunate Vidarbha. The problem is mainly lack of irrigation in the region.There are hardly any major dams and the sub-soil water level is falling every year.Farmers are mostly living on single crop dry farming.Slowly their economic condition has detoriorated over the years. Indebtness is now forcing them to resort to this extreme step.They are very simple people but with high Self-respect.Ford Foudation is undertaking an indepth study .One has to go deep into their psyche. I think the problem is not giving more money but to free them from landlords debt and only State Govt can address this.Also long term policy for providing water for irrigation and not loan for digging wells is required. If any suggestions in htis regard please do respond.

Its absolutely perfect to donate if any known name viz anna hazare, baba amte ,is taking charge of the whole thing. It would be wise to stop spending Crores on Ganpathi festivals ,Diwali etc instaead Donate the amt to needy,but we are a Nation of shameless people.No calamity like Flood,Blasts,Earthquakes will dampen our stupid spirit .For us GOD , RELIGION comes before HUMANS.

Congrats to CNNIBN for being responsive to societal needs apart from being only sensation in TV channel,thank you, Nidhi with Ms. Uma Sudhir had done a special report on NDTV on the plight of Andhra farmers and the good samaritan from transatlantic who had come to India from America to help out the widows.My huble contribution is being despatched,thank you again.

IBN - You are doing a wonderful service by helping the needy. However, I'll be happy if you trace the money promised (??) by PM and expose what happened to it?
Focussing on donations and charity is not a panacea for the ailments. It time the corrupt are held responsible and paraded naked on the streets.

i loved CNN-IBN when it has found out the way to help victims of blast in mumbai. NO doubt the money collected might have helped more than 10 people of mumbai. I think This type of steps must be taken from every news channel, then for the sake of donation they will browse the page and as called " light one candle" I request CNN-Ibn to start the same procedure of lightning candle which goes to vidharbh farmer. Not only Vidharbh farmer but also to other people leaving under BPL.

I appreciate your gesture but differ on this, is our government having fafulous growth and other bla bla bla is incapable of handle this? do our coffers are only for politician's BIG packets and comforts, thier ulimited air/rail travels?
As citizen of India we are united if any natural calamity comes and would donate generously but if we are required to involve this type of help whats the use of paying hefty Income tax and other taxes, where this money is going..
Its a shame on our political top brass and govt of India..
