I am appalled by the allegations against the couple. But I am puzzled as to why the maids didn't run away when the family was out on vacation.

We have been fed all achievements of NRIs by media, but these soddy things seldom came to the surface.Whatever a guy earns or does in foreign land,ultimately his or her linage catches up.Already foreign investors have poor opinion about Indian business people as they dont care much about the stake holders.

This is disgusting. But I guess these kind of cases are common in our country. The oppressed include waiters in small hotels, truck cleaners, domestic helpers etc. We have recently seen a case where a Bihar MLA was using children to plough his fields. Our justice system is moribund and law enforcement lacks teeth.
At least in US, there seems to be some value for human rights and some level of justice and law enforcement.

this is the one incident that has just come into light, there are so many NRIs who are mistreating their wives . They no more retain the values of a true indian.

Really respect the court for serving justice to the devastated women. Crime against women should be eradicated from the world. But really don't undestand how can a lady act this brutal.

This is the real India ! People may become filthy rich, but their basic upbringing makes the whole country so embarrassed. There are innumerous such tortures happening back home, guess when would our country punish rowdies like these. Shame on us, literally.

I am an Indian and I believe this becuase this kind of incidents are common in the Indian state of Gujarat and most of the Indians in USA are from Gujarat.

I don't think your view is correct. I am also living in USA. The Gujarati are not like this man. This guy is either from South India or Punjab. In here the population of Gujarati is more and sucessful because they help each those person who just come to USA. I am born in gujarat but my parents are from UP but in here Gujarati people are helping me just because I am from Vadodara. I guess u never visited USA. If u don't know anything about USA then its better not to make comment and waste your time......
