I agree with the view that this failure is a national shame. Just sanctioning money will not do especially in UP it seems.Setup special court to probe the matter and get the people arrested. Please give it as wide publicity as possible and let everybody understand how inefficient the government(elected by us!) is.

Really feel ashmaed to read this..hell with GAP and the people arround it.Does it really take 13 years..and its for a loss..Not even 0.1% action has been taken to improve..This truly reflects the diry politics of INDIA..My god how can people be so careless. And it states "The 2006 official audit of the Ganga Action Plan describes how Rs 900 crore of tax payers money has been misused." Finally who are the losers..Its we "THE POOR CITIZENS OF INDIA" Its really confusing..as to whome to pity..Firstly should we pity for river GANGA,or should we pity ourselves...or the dirty people responsible for this.. Or the people or organizations likes GAP..who are really unfit.. But finally i think..we got to pity INDIA..for having given birth to these flabby clads and organizations.

Its good you brought up this issue, my only point is, situation will not improve by just bringing the point, the media has to take some stringent steps to be eye-opener for the top authorities, and follow them rigorously to make Ganga Clean

This is a national shame!
The holiest river in the world being treated like this? Its disgusting. Washing your sins takes on a new meaning here and you will be washing with death more like.
Name and shame the people who have caused this situation to continue.
Thanks ro CNN-IBN highlighting this issue.

Even the Ganga cannot be cleaned,by our corrupt politicians and bureaucrats.India can only be cleaned and made corruption free, when all Govt deptts. close down and the Govt. does its job of Governing and not acting and wanting to be a Contractor.
