Hats off to Prithvi Raj's wife(Beena) & Ahed for bringing this to the spotlight! We traveled through 3 cities to get to Delhi airport to board Air India for NY in 1995 and our 4 year old son had it! He was running around and we needed some help. I went to the airport "special services desk" and was ignored for a few minutes, told them my situation and was told to take him to a "children's room". when we went to that room it smelled of cigarettes and a 9X9 in space and the furniture and toys were dirty. So, I went back and was then directed to the airport managers desk where I waited as well. Soon, before I could begin to speak a worker walks in and tells the manager that "Farook's (minister of Kashmir(?) daughter is flying to Singapore and wants to get into the Lounge"! The manager shrugs his shoulders and signs to let her do so. When I requested the same stating that I had a child with special needs and required a smaller area to keep an eye on him, he recommends the same room that I had already seen. I told him that I was glad that I lived in a more sympathetic country who didn't care about the skin color of my child but that if we needed any service, it would be provided. And, I walked out as I was worried about my family waiting in the checking area. As I walked out a Policeman had asked me "what is the matter", I told him and he felt for me but was not in the position to do anything. I told my wife who is from India that "can you believe it our family fought for Independence, Wars and has Government Employees and this "b_______" is going to allow that anti-Indian's daughter to get the bonus of the "LOUNGE", but not our son! On Air India it wasn't any better. We had to explain it to the crew but they wouldn't understand until a very nice stewardess who had met my son on his flight into India told them the situation and told me that he hadn't given any problems on the way in. I told her how we got to the airport & she knew he had a bad day!!!

This is third degree behaviour by security officials...There must be a legal tribunal that examines cases as these and metes out strong punishment to the erring officials...God knows what other skeletons they have hidden in their charaters!!!!!!

Hats off to Mr.Prithviraj and his wife. Our President Shri. Abdul Kalam who is always sympathetic and considerate to mentally challenged children should order the scrapping of the archaic Aircraft rules immediately. Such disabled persons should be given special facilities and be given compassionate treatment!

Express my feelings for Mr. Raj and his family. The incident was outrageous and it was the Airlines duty to see that their passengers are not put to trouble unless there is a serious security issue. Celebrities like Mr. Raj whose reach and access to the media is high need to take action so that a example is set for one and all.

"Ahed gets vibes when we are upset about something and after all that, he kept kissing me on my cheek as if to tell me, 'Mama it's okay'." When I Read the above phrase, I could not control myself but wept. His gesture shows that it is the attitude of persons who consider children like Ahed as being dangerous to society is the real threat to humanity. Let these persons ask themselves whether they are human. Kindly convey my feelings to Prithvi and his family. My love to Ahed. Chandramohan.

Utterly insensitive...as a nation we have tolerated bigoted behaviour and boorish machoism for too long...this is disgusting...Prithviraj and Beena, you have our full support.
