I am myself an IITian and I am sorry that people are reacting like this. Dow took over from Union Carbide which sold the plant. There is no reason to ban them. This is same as giving punishment to a child whose father has done wrong.
I think people should better focus on serious issues plaguing the country like Naxalism rather than matters like this. Let the courts decide what should be done on Dow.

Please understand that Union Carbide was taken over by Dow, and Dow WAS NOT BEHIND THE BHOPAL TRAGEDY.
Secondly, when Dow purchased the UCIL in 1999, they owed NO OBLIGATIONS for any settlement.
Past is past, why whatever happened due to the corrupt Government practices and Union Carbide, we should strain our relationship with a Chemical giant like Dow which could offer new jobs and oppurtunities to many Indians.
Don't agree with me, see the US - Japanese relationship after WW-II, we need to move forward with time and not to get dragged by the past.
Its shocking and shameful that even brainy guys from IIT are not embracing the reality.
I totally disagree with IITians this behavior.

I got an interview call from DOW but when I learnt that it was the company behind Bhopal tragedy, I turned down the requests to appear in that.

I am proud of you as a fellow Indian. Dow's behaviour is a bad example for nut just unethical corporate conduct but even after the tragedy the cuplrits used the strong American diplomacy to hide behind American laws (the same laws that allow American agencies to kidnap people in other countries) making a mockery of our justice system. Even after so many decades the real culprits could not be even prosecuted, let alone punished!

This is excellent. Well deserved response to Dow. I hope all the institutes follow suit.

Well done. It is necessary to make these immoral people know that we will not forget what they have done to our people in Bhopal.
