How can he be a Bharat Ratna when he has such a narrow religious mind. Great People have great minds especially when it is concerning the sentiments of the population where he is born. How can we consider him a jewel let alone be a decent human being. Maybe he is a great artist. A great shooter if is on a shooting spree will not be awarded gold medal or is considered olympiad. Age cannot be an excuse as he had perverted ideas at the time of painting without giving any consideration for the sentiments or he cared less for the common man's sentiments

yes, why can't he paint prophet mohd, his eight wives .. ??

I resent the implication that Prophet Mohammad was married to 8 wives at the same time or that he led a life of luxury that goes with having multiple wives at the same time. In the same breath I want to say that Mr M.F. Hussain has used his artistic freedom a little too much and time and again. And it is to be noted that he has since apologized. This situation is a little different from the Danish cartoons where they refused to say they were sorry which leads one to believe that it was a deliberate attempt at provocation. Mr Hussain, on the other hand, had been painting "nude" pictures, but you would have to have a strong imagination and very good eye sight to see that his portrayal of Bharat Mata was in fact nude. Thats my 2 cents.

He deserves awards but definitely not a Bharat Ratna. Unfortunately this award has been misused and many not so worthy persons have got it before hence it will not be surprising if Mr Hussain is nominated for the same. After all any thing can be expected in Congress raj.

Some body writing a letter to the President of India seeking 'Bharat Ratna' to FM Hussain does not bear any thing but just view of one/ few. It will be foolish to give any comments. However, keeping the past of the Congress in view, any thing and every thing is possible from them just to keep their vote bank alive. By this they can show how fair they are to minorities?
