The institution is very correct in directing its students to wear turban compulsorily as turbans are an integral part of their school's uniform. Likewise make wearing helmets compulsory for all Sikhs riding motor cycles irrespective of wearing turbans or not.....It is the law of the land and why should they be given exemption, no one is allowed to carry knife in the streets, then why they should they be allowed to carry knife [ They may call it kirpan but it is a knife ] in public places, it is an offence. So prohibit them carrying knives.... and these things keeping flowing. There should be a give and take policy in everything, otherwise it will be a never ending fight of contrivances in life. Specially an institution imparting knowledge to tiny tots should not behave in an irresponsible way. We are not British to enforce idiotic laws. We belong to a the big community called Indians and wants to live and let live our children in harmony.

I support the imposition of the Turban after all Sikhism is 90% from Hinduism and 10% added by Guru Nanak from here and there.I think that Sikhism is a Panthic religion and Rashtriya Sikh Sanghat RSS is working for bringing Sikhs in to the fold of Hinduism.

THIS SI SO IRONIC. IN THE USA AND CANADA, THE SIKHS MAKE A BIG DEAL IF THE UNIFORM CODE IS NO TURBAN OR HEADGEAR-WHETHER IN SCHOOL, COLLEGES, SERVICE-PRIVATE OR GOVT AND CRY FOUL AGAINST THIS CALLING IT DISCRIMINATION AGAINST THEIR FREEDOM OF SELF AND RELIGION, YET THEY PERSIST IN LIVING IN THESE WESTERN COUNTRIES.
NOW THEY ARE DOING IT IN REVERSE IN INDIA. WHY DO OTHER NON-SIKH STUDENTS HAVE TO WEAR A TURBAN WHEN IT IS NOT THEIR RELIGION ,BUT THE SIKH OWNED SCHOOL IS INSISTING THIS IS THEIR POLICY. THEYSHOULD MAKE UP THEIR MINDS, THEY CANNOT EXPECT TO HAVE IT BOTH WAYS. IF THEY DO THEY NEED TO LIVE IN SEGREGATED COMMUNITIES WHETHER AT HOME OR ABROAD.

Not sure what those parents are complaining about!!!!

Akal academy is established to prosper Sikh religion at root level.
In first place why did parents sent their ward to Sikh religious school and then don't want to learn religion.
Some of kind of non-issue or may be all they wanted was subsidized good education.
