I work in the coca-cola company. I have seen the process very closely, more closely after i heard this pesticides thing. The only place the colas are contaminated is the water which they use. The water is just filtered and does not goes thru any purification process. Its our indian water that has pesticides not the cola, otherwise how come every cool drink will get the same positive results for germs? I dont stand by the cola company bcuz I work for it, im just saying what I have seen in the factory.

I feel the pesticide residue is coming from the water. There was a report earlier that even coconut water was found to have pesticides in them! It is very strange that nobody has tried to analyze the other Indian made soft drinks so far; if so, were they found safe?

Too much $$ at stake for the politicians if they ban the colas. Rather the common people drink pesticides for their sakes. The media is equally to blame for knowingly airing these ads for money.

Coke/Pepsi to AnbuMoney: "Huhh, Yes Hon'ble minister. But we dont charge extra for the pesticides - its free with the drink"
AnbuMoney: "Duhh, thats fair - whats that lady complaining about on all channels then?"
Coke/Pepsi: "Now that we have said there are pesticides, can we get subsidies on bottles sold in Rural areas? It can be classified as agri products"

If the centre cant ban the colas for the reasons best known to them; atleast they can impose the declaration on their brands saying that it contains pesticides which are harmful for consumption. This will be on the same lines that we have for cigarettes and tobacco products. Also, it's high time, we stop all these advertisements on television and theatres, till the Supreme court decision. All the sponsorships may also be stopped.
