Neelam Afterall she was not wrong..we the people of India so hollow in our foundations that can be rocked and shattered by few sentences. If faith is so hollow why call it faith..
It seems to me that story of village of blind people who would kill anyone who is suspected to have vision..

more gowthaman arundhati roy enjoys a lot of freedom thats why she can speak like this in an interview and she shouldnt take it for granted ,just think about pakistan or any muslim nation for that matter. she should not expect that everybody is as intellectually equipped as she is. so you should respect others self esteem .which ithink the so called intellectuals like arundhati taslima and karan thapar cant understand. it is easy to say things like this sitting in the glass houses. be a little pragmatic before saying this kind of ridiculously ideal things about freedom of speech.

Suhail Shafi Most of what Taslima Nasrin writes is rubbish - she once accused Islam of promoting infanticide when in fact Islam put an end to the practice of murdering female babies - this is a matter of historical record.

Arundhati Roy is perfectly justified in her dismissal of Nasrin's rant, as is Pranab Mukherjee in his insistence that guests of India ought to behave in a responsible manner. The point, however is, that Nasrin deserves to be refuted and dismissed, not killed or made into a victim of violence. The last thing we want is to make a martyr of a dubious intellectual.

zak Hey guys wid whome we are interviewing and asking whether taslima is right or wrong.Taslima is an ignorant woman who knows nothing abt islam and by jus analysing few orthodox topics she concluded that islam is wrong.she isn't a islamic scholar, she isn't a good learner, she said her view which was not good towards islam, and if she had thought htat smething's not wrong then she shud have clarified herself with islamic scholars first and then give a conclusion. She sitting in her AC cladded environment jus read few pages from a sacred book created hundreds of years ago consisting of hundreds of pages, and gave a naive conclusion and wrote a book of her own.what kind of hypocrite writer she is.
I am a muslim, and i am hurt when some one says that ram setu doesn't exist, hey guys wat are we talking.I believe in Ram,his books and mythology, who are we to question existence of god and very own sacred books on them.
the same way no sacred structure should be prone to a subjective analysis if it contains orthodox religious feelings. We are in india and nobody has a right to disturb one's feelings,if muslims say that they are hurt by taslima then they are right, why go against millions of our own under pretext of saving art and that to a foriegner.
Arundati roy considers herself a defender of art,but wat abt hearts of millions. She values lifeless art more than lively people.Does she know abt islam ,how come she had concluded that taslima isn't wrong, does she know abt her own religion.if you dont wanna belive smething so be it, why disturb other's faith and feelings.these hypocrite writers have no other work, jus to grab attention they are involved in these offensive works.
If you dont belive me then see the interview between taslima and thapar, and decide by yourself wats right and wats wrong.islam never teaches inequality,it is the religion of peace and equality for all men, women, justice, and equal share in wat ever might be the paltform.

B S GANESH I understand from some cultured and educated Muslims that what Taslima has written is not against Islam. But pseudo Islamic people it appears have misunderstood or not bothered to understand are taking liberty for terrorism. In fact though all religins are reformed to meet the present day indian conditions, Muslims have not bothered to reform to meet presenty day conditions of Global village. All religions were framed thousands of years ago when population was abysmall nil and people were like frogs in a small pond. Now due to growth of population, modern scientific educatin and culture, there is need for Muslims also to get reformed to cooperate with other religions and feel all are equal before law and God is one to be worshipped in any form and stop hatred and live as members of world community in general and india in particular.
