SRK once again stands out. A very different movie and an interesting theme. It was handled without any vulgarity or artificiallity. The movie as many of my friends have said is not bad at all. It may not be exceptional but it is very good. I enjoyed the songs, SRK, Rani... Only thing is to enjoy the film, one has to relate himself/herself to the story. Be in SRK's position and think......

A wonderful Film. I always enjoy watching films with Rani Mukherjee and Shah rukh khan. Rani is a wonderful actress. She caught my attention with Black. I´m trying to catch on with the films she´s made in the past. She´s a wonderful actress. I prefer watching modern day films made in india and this film is really a good start for people who haven´t had much experience with Bollywood.

wow what a movie!!!!Just explain me something why was srk overreacting on everything he does?. why was rani overemotional ?. why AB had to play such a casanova? why AB has to die immediately? Why whenever rani and srk are out they always meet AB and kiran kher? Why abhishek bachan goes back to rani and says that he loves her and she is her family ......then why didnt he accepted her? I really loved the way srk used to act before this movie but...kal ho na ho was gem of a movie. it was much of hyped movie. Mr. karan johar you have to give me my 2500 bucks which i spent watching your movie in PVR s with family. I dont know will i ever gather courage again to watch your movie......EVERYTHING WAS OVERDONE IN THIS MOVIE

The thing which I didnt like in this movie is how the characters of srk and rani are built up...There was no necessity to get emotional or to show sympathy for both of them.. People can clearly say that they both are going in a wrong way.. At some point of time it feels that they both are attracted sexually more than emotionally..When everything was going on well between the original pairs why the hell did srk and rani tell the truth to their respective partners..This time Karan really failed to show what he really wanted to show.. I also heard that he wants to make a sequel to this movie.. Mr.Karan, if you have so much money in excess, please give some to me.. I am sure that I am going to make a very good film than you..We can share the profit later.. The good points of the movie are the songs, the colours and the dialogues which we see in all Karan Johar's movies...

The most prejudiced review I have come across. Giving KANK 4 stars is the pits. It simply shows how shallow your reviewer is. quoting from the review "Few writers have such solid control over their screenplay as Karan Johar does. Few understand the intricacies of narrative as well as he does. Johar goes from highs to lows, from plateaus to peaks with the ease of a pro. He knows exactly how to turn a seemingly ordinary scene into something special with just that one line of dialogue, or that hint of background music. Just watch how he builds the tension in that scene where both Rani and Preity approach Shah Rukh from across the road, both unaware of the other's presence. Or the scene at the opera where Shah Rukh is overcome with jealosy when he watches Abhishek exercise his conjugal rights on Rani." Give us a break Mr. Masand ...either u have lost it or u have been bought out...please quit your job as a reviewer ...u dont deserve a second chance after this.

i ventured into the theatre with a skeptical expectation. having read so many mixed reviews, i decided to check out KANK myself. Good film.great dialogues. good performances(AB,abhishek and preity deserve special mention).it doesnt try to satisfy the social norms, which in turn is reflective of the changing face of indian society. it is a taboo ending in the conventional terms, and it is here that karan deserves accolades. thank god v dont have wives going back to their husbands just on moralistic stands. i found two faults though. one, SRK characterisation and acting (he acted more arrogant than bitter, and tended to repeat himself. cudnt really reflect the maturity of his character).second, the long stretched ending.i think karan was trying to evoke sympathy for rani and SRK's characters by prolonging the ending. unfortunately, these two characters dont evoke any such emotion.the movie shud hav been cut short by the last half hour.i think it deserves 3 stars.

I defended KANK.I said it won’t be that bad..Karan Johar well..may be..but I trust Masand.Friends said the screenplay was awry.I defended “Masand knows more about screenplays than you bunch of dudes”.They said Rani’s character wasn’t justified.I resented.I know of a married girl who got involved with a guy for no rhyme or reason. So there are people like that. Then last week I saw your show.. FOUR STARS by Rajeev Masand..that too..TWICE.. This film is definitely taking a new turn in Indian cinema. Then I decided to see the film.Yeow.This film should be one of the lifetime ones. Aiyooo.. New turn.. which way.. Extra marital a new turn is it..I saw it when I was 10 something..Charulata was it or was it Guide..that marathi film Pinjra.. mmm..Aah.. Arth.. Masoom..Rihaee some popular film too.. what was it Silsila.. o.k recent times..How about Astitva..how about Aastha..Mixed doubles was kinky..Oh..I get it wrong.. The message of the film is about what if you find a soulmate after marriage. Is the message of a film so important for a film by karan johar.Well can’t he just give an interview on it ..why to go through an ordeal of making a film and torture the audience.

A marriage gyan by someone who hasn’t even gone through it but has experienced it by peeping through married couples window. Love between Shahrukh and rani was not justified. The protagonists were not with the audience. There have been films where protagonists are dark but the screenplay justifies them being dark, the audience connects emotionally. Here audience connects with Abhishek and Preity.Shahrukh had to resort to animated facial gestures for a wrong marriage.Rani, sadly failed to justify her frigidity towards Abhishek.Typical dialogues like Rishte..Mohabbat..Dosti cannot preach or justify frailty in relationship. There is something more to the complexity in the institution of marriage which Mr. Karan can’t understand. The theme was identifiable, but definitely not the film.In my opinion the subject was handled immaturely, amateurishly and melodramatically.Message is not bigger than a film. Mr.Popkorn Pasand the characters in the films were definitely not grey.by the way Karan used the words for the film’s publicity. why were you speaking the same language.R u his p.r.o. Toh Mr. Masand, Mera safar aapke show ke saath yahin tak.. Pichle karan ki film se is karan ki KALANK tak…

Most of us criticising this movie are being hypocrites as we are refusing the truth prevelant in our society. even though people might hot have the strength to venture into any extra marital affairs but all the people who are facing temperamental differences intheir marriage wish to find someone who really understands and loves us. i feel that one should learn from this movie how not to let your marriage go wrong and learn how to appreciate our partner and adjust with each other. we are still in the denying mode which is apparent from the manner in which we are criticising the movie. a thoughful movie presented in the mainstream manner. well presented, well executed, great performances.

Absolutely!

What do you know about this society. There are several other things which are prevalent here but should not and have not been portrayed on the screen. It should not be that whatever is here should be on the screen but what is wrong should not or never be justified, rather a proper solution should be provided.
