Indian communists should have consulted China, their masters, before making any decision. They always take China's advice on all matters relating to India.
They take Chinese's advice on India's nuclear deal with the USA. They oppose the deal because China does not want India to progress.
Their loyalty is not to India but to China.

We can only laugh at this and express no sympathy for the so called Left trade union leaders. Can understand if a lay man, an uneducated worker falls a victim to these Nigerian scam but the so called internationally known trade union leaders falling to such silly frauds is a shame. This is nothing but greediness to visit some foreign countries in some pretext or other at other's cost. These leaders can't safeguard themselves from getting cheated, leave alone protecting the rights of workers, wants to participate in an international global warming conference. I am at loss to know what kind of benefit will be achieved to the individuals/workers/nation by these leaders attending such conferences. It will be worthwhile if a scientist or a post graduate student conducting a research attends such seminars. Govt. of India should issue a notification/guide lines as to who should attend, for what, when and why if benefits are to reach the right way.

This is the biggest scandal to have hit India since the nuclear scam. Communists unite. Nigeria is the next frontier. Internet is the next Hitler!! I wonder if this is what happened to them, what bigger things would have happened to Karat and Yechury !!

These commies would do any thing for photo-ops. If they really cared for Global warming, why the hell they have to go and present papers. Why can't they do in India. Now that I am age biased, looking at pictures they seems to planning for "joy ride" under "global warming". I wonder whose money they were using. If it is their's, I don't care, but if it is tax money, I resent that.

Some people here are pretending as they are Left supporters and making fun of Left leaders arguing it is USA conspiracy etc. It is not just Nigerians who find happiness in fooling others. It is a mind-set. BBC report says, every year, US citizens alone are conned out of approx. Rs.8,00,00,00,000/- by Nigerian Scam. Obviously all victims are not Leftists. Hotel industry people are cheated on a regular basis, and they never report this out of shame. In most cases, people are lured by promises of big money. At least Left leaders are not lured by money, but they were more eager to participate for some good cause.
It is not easy to recognize Nigerian Scam. I remember, once I had to contact USA embassy in Nigeria to verify the truth. On many occasions, they give working phone numbers in which one can call and talk to real people. They some times give original website links of real organizations, but cleverly give a wrong email ID as part of Email text. Not many people would take time to compare email IDs given for communication and that is listed in website. They even make real payments (using stolen credit cards) and fool even Bank officials, not to talk about ordinary citizens.
This incidents show that, though highly intelligent people also could make mistakes, especially, if they are not expert internet users. But even those who use internet for decades some times make mistakes.
Unless and until one regularly handle such fake emails and read about similar nature of scams, it is difficult for non-internet savvy people to identify Nigerian scam. At present I am struggling to convince one of my Hotel owning friends who refuses to accept the Room Booking Email he got is scam, despite my warning. His argument is simple. They are offering to pay my friend and my friend is not asked to pay anything to them...
I think the Govt should come with Media ADs to educate novice internet users about this. Just like in USA let us not allow our citizens to be victims.

There may be some dangerous communal forces behind this plan to root out communism from India. Communists must withdraw support to UPA or at least threaten.
