Naveen katti I think karan sir has done the great job. I would like to tell left people one thing - come out of hypocracy. We know how we can protect ourselves, we dont need any self declared "protectors".
If prices come under control, monsoon turns out positive, congress gets fairer vote share in karnataka by July end, then no one can save left, even Lenin and Govt will surely go ahead with the deal.

Suhas It is not US but Left are black mailing the government with constant threat to withdraw support but not doing it.
The threat given by Left every time is nothing but a black mailing to a legtimetly elected government and is tantamount to Trension.
If we were under militery rule, all these left clowns should have been hanged for such trension by which left party is depriving millions of indians their right ot ultra modern technology and future energy security.
left has never understood the needs of people and thats why they can not expand their stronghold beyond west bangal and Kerala.
What left parties can do is to provide obstacles in every progressive move taken by any one so that poor shall remain poor and they can control them.
Left has no ideology neither they have any national interests in mind.
What all of them think of perputiation of their control over the government, have power without responsibility.
Some time back there was a proposal to make Jyoti Basu as PM.
Thank god. Wisdom prevele and he was not made PM otherwise he and his clowns should have put INDIA back to 1950 position with all nonsence controls.
Once again. UPA should Dump left before they dump UPA. Get an advantage. Go to people with right reasoning and people will support you. Dont look at left, dont bargain with left and dont beg to left. They have made UPA's life miserable and it can be worse for UPA and still worse for Nation if we allow 50 MPS from Left to control decisions of the nation. This attitude should be stopped.

Sujay The Left is your classic proverbial "wet blanket". Their ideology has never stayed with the times, which has lead to desperate attempts to justify their existence. This is only one of multiple examples where they have been the spanner in everything that should/could have worked. Every now and then, the Left needs to show they exist by pulling stunts like these. That's how inconsequential their role is in Indian politics nowadays.
Mr.Thapar asked just the right questions to make Mr.Bardhan squirm enough and expose the real agenda behind their hardline against the deal. I never saw a clear answer to why they let the Govt approach the IAEA in the first place, if they did have a genuine reason to do so.

Good job Mr.Thapar!! I think you have given a lot of fodder for the Congress to feed on in their upcoming meet with the Left. Hope they grill their representatives into submission and lay this matter to rest once and for all. You were right when you used a phrase like "embarrassment to the government and the country" to describe the effects on India's standing in the international community, due to their selfish attempts to scuttle crucial development.
If the Congress risks losing the "support" (as if that has been any good) of the Left, i would say "good riddance". I am sure the Government will be able to continue and perform better for the remainder of the term without the pesky leftists pulling them back.

Kaushik Karan, it can't get any better than this! Wonderful just wonderful. And the question of all was the arm twisting one and how Congress is going ahead with the deal and Left is just being fooled!

veeresh GOOD ONE!
I see devil's advocate reguraly, I had seen a bad one last week but this is good.

But i think there is some fine points with cpm. In my openion US is pressurizing India to sign 123. they might even go to the extent of stopping NSG clearance without 123. Govt should look into Left' thoughts also.

Over all it was a good show Karan and his team: YOU ARE DOING GOOD JOB.

Rajesh I'm not sure what ideology these leftists follow. The party workers are perhaps the most violent workers along with the Shiva Sena and VHP.
For Left there is only one state and that is Bengal. Bengal can get FDI but not other states.
Look at what they have done to W Bengal... running 5 days of business is a luxury there.
I guess the only way India can progress is give retirement to all existing politicians. Have a 2 party (ONLY) system and have a political candidate who has the basic skill and knowledge to take decisions

AJAY Karan has nearly exposed Mr.Bardhan and communists. I wish he should have also asked some uncomfortable question about their chinese proximity and reason for their let the govt go ahead for IAEA talk in view of the Nandigram violence.

M P Reddy Mr. Karan Thapar is Awesome! Left are introverts. They feel left out whenever Dr. Manmohan Singh praises leaders of other political parties. You screwed A B Bhardhan left right and center.
Left needs to be taught few lessons and you did pretty well to teach them. Hope they will be given farewell in the coming elections.

Sameer Earlier the taunt was "Angrez chale gayee....inhe yahin chhodd gayee". Now "Communist Chinese aur Soviet Chale gayee...inn inhe chhodd gaye"
