Saawariya is easily Bhansali's most self-indulgent exercise yet.

venu I fully support ashwini, Rajeev's review become pathetic. When he gives thumps up to OSO and thumps down to a classic movie. Its sad that he becomes brand ambassador for certain banners. if he criticize a movie in in certain parameters of movie elements, he should show courage and criticize all movies in the same manner.

more Jaspreet One of THE BEST movies I have ever seen in my life......yes I have just written " THE BEST"...

I think people have failed to undestand the whole concept of the movie.....

Well my dear dumb people its not a masala flick like the so called 'OSO' but is more like a theatrical play if you have ever seen one in your lives......which I doubt after reading all the reviews and comments....

Mr. Bansali if you are reading I truely feel that this is one of the best movie directed by you and will always remain as one of the BEST MOVIES I have watched in the recent years...... Fantastic music and great direction...took me into a Dream world where I would love to live forever... :)

Hope to see more such movies in the near future :)

Good luck Mr. Bansali and keep up the great and differnt work that you always dare to do...... :)

Ashwani Rajiv,

The only moview reviews I read are from you and the ones from Raja Sen. However, at times your reviews've been a bit dissappointing, like in the case of Sawaariya.

I fail to understand the criticism you've leveled at the movie. Where exactly does it fail the Masand test? The set/ city.. its very opulence? So what?? Did you check out the sets of Mughal-E-Azam? or you did not like snow falling after a day of rain? But isnt this exactly how winter announces it arrival in areas where it does snow?

And yes, you also mentioned about the movie lacking a soul! Maybe yes maybe no. This is a subjective assessment.

To me the soul of this movie is in the poem. The poem that starts as the starting credits come by, gathers a flow and a momentum as Saawariya meets Sakina, and that special something starts... and slowly the poem blossoms into a prayer.. and then a dance, as the two lead characters play with each other amidst that dream landscape!

I dont think its an outstanding movie. However, I do think its a pretty good movie. I did cringe at times - for eg. when rani screamed - "abhi ek slap doongi!". But I spent most of the time listening to and seeing the poem painted on that theater set, filmed so exquisitly.

Why is it so difficult for us as a viewer to simply try to take in and enjoy the vision of the director. Is it abs necessary that the director agree to the established norms? Why cant SLB populate his characters in a dream city? Why cant we judge his characters within the context of that city? If Guide is remade today, will you insist that it be based in Mysore/ Chennai/ Udaipur, and not in Malgudi?

khan The film is absolute rubbish. It is a pity that most people are taken in by the three-month long hype over the film in the tv shows and media, and which is still continuing.

It is high time people started using their own brains before spending hundreds of bucks on such films and making the producers rich and the directors famous for fooling people.

sham I never saw such an worst movie in my life. I will hit the director with chappals if he comes in front of me. He wasted my 250 Rs and spoiled my weekend.

Pathetic movie Saa-bore-iya, the most pathetic movie i've seen in the recent past...... It's just intolerable. I couldn't even sit through a part of the movie. Had to force myself as others whom i'd coaxed to watch it wanted to punish me by making me watch it! I was actually taken by the big hype created for the movie and hence went to see it against the advice of some of the family members and friends who'd already seen it. I truly regretted that decision after just few minutes down the Saa-bore-iya road. How can a so-called 'celebrated' director make such a dud?
Looking back, i think Saa-bore-iya managed to run only because of the mileage it gained as Om Shanti Om's competitor. Otherwise, Saa-bore-iya is a movie that would've spelt doom for it's makers.

rahul Hi everybody, I was bit reluctant to see this movie initialy by reading the reviews...but when I have seen this movie...I can not really understand what were the reasons behind such negative reviews about this amazing piece of idea, and execution of really class apart movie...first time I have felt after many years there is still something left in bollywood...like SLB who are innovative enough and creative ... really creative... this movie is not for entertain purposes...it is creative, artistic piece of work... I am not saying whether is good movie or average movie... that depends on ones taste...but I am certainly against the kind of review this movie has got... reviews must be authenticated... un-biased... and should be focussed on good and bad parts of a movie... I can see many contradictions in the reviews like...on one side when it clear that movie is all about a fictional creative story then why look for technical faults like it is raining one day and snowing on other... movie is staged on a beautifull set, really expensive... simply beautifull best I have seen in any bollywood movie so far...colours and experience like never before.... too good by any bollywood standards... acting is good by new comers... and i must not say new comers like...acting can't be learned by doing tens of movies...good actors are good actors... I can write many more things about the movie but thats not my goal... My goal is to tell you all about incorrect and biased reviews about this movie...
