Shyam.P.Kunte This IPL Tamasha should be banned as it is not Cricket what they are going to play but TV serials(?).This booty thus clinched, will only be squeezed from our poor and middle class indian consumers as ` TV Ad`costs get loaded in the prices of daily consumables of FMCG and others..Shame on you Our Cricket Heros,as we (can)watch you only when you play for our country and not for otherwise. Mr Pawar is in the making of Nero as He is `Fiddling (with) in BCCI-IPL` when here our Agrarian crisis is at its peak.....Mr.BalaSaheb is right in condemning this

keshav ranganath Hope Thakeray's insinuations come true. Better wealth flaunting industrialists ruling the country than corrupt politicians. Thakeray is a politician too, isn't he?

suresh k Vulgar display of wealth in a majority poor country. The feelings of the spectators are taken for granted.
Shame on those cricketers who wish to be auctioned like this.
The least the fans can do to protest is by not watching these matches.

saif aly For once I'll agree with Bala Thackeray on the issue of IPL Cricket in India. This is most definitely gamblimg - kind of overt gambling - as suppose to covert gambling - which took place during Hansje Cronje's time when cricket players accepted money to win/lose games. It will most definitely affect the game of Cricket - T20/20 versus Test - in India and aborad as the two are in different tiers. If these industrialist in India really want to splash out their money, then why don't they invest in India's infrastructure that their companies use - roads, highways, bridges, freight trains, toll ways, by-ways, electricity, water resources - and so on. They can't deny that they don't use these facilities - it cost India billions of dollars. They may say so that we are paying our fair share of excise and levies taxes to cover costs for using these facilities, but that's peanuts compared to the size to which they use these infrastructure facilites instead of spending millions on wasted sport like cricket. Cricket is the only sport which is played heavily in India. Why not invest and divest some this money into other sports. Also, there is rampant poverty in India - people don't have enough food for 2 meals - so why don't these indutrialists invest in creating jobs throughout India and put people to work.

indi How else to gain publicity than to disagree and express displeasure with everything in society

Rishi Well Said Sir, Farmers comitting suicide
" DO the industrials take care of thier nation by helping the poor"

There is a sense of selfishness in all the acts of the business tycoons.

All the other sports in India would be destroyed complety.

kudla_maani This is the end of cricket. Nobody will be interested in the regular games anymore, both players and spectators.

valmiki Can somebody tell thackerey that world has moved on while he has remained fronzen for 30 years!!! One can't remain with age old socialist mentality of equal pay .. people have choice and talent is getting recognized.

Suppose I switch job and move to high paying job equivlent to an employer paying bidding more money for my talent.. why is it wrong?

Guys like thackerey hold the country behind!!

Brown I will feel safer with industrialists leading the country rather than Bal thackeray and his nazi fsmily causing bloodsheds on the name of race and religion. Money is not a vice and if it can provide motivation to play and entertain better, why not! Some politician like Thackeray who has amassed wealth of public shouldn't morally comment. He is talking because he can.
