Mir Omar Ali, M.D. On the contrary, Islam is the most widely adhered-to faith and way of life [~2 billion per the BBC]; Jum`ah Namaaz attendance is greater than the attendance on Sundays in the Church of England churches [news reports].
Our observation, for the most part, has been that Masjids are full or overflowing with Namaazis on Fridays in different countries around the world including the U.S. and U.K.
These are the core beliefs of Islam for those interested:
1. There is nothing worthy of worship except Allah [God], the Prophet Muhammad [Allah Magnify and Bless him] is Allah’s Messenger.
2. Belief in Allah as He is known by His Names and Attributes; and acceptance of His Commandments by declaration of one’s tongue and affirmation of one’s soul.
3. Belief in Allah; His Angels; His Revealed Books [Qur’aan, others]; His Messengers; The Day of Resurrection; Destiny, its good and bad being from Allah; and Life-After-Death.
The 4 mandatory worship-related pillars are Salaat/Namaaz [5 times per day], Zakaat [Charity of 2.5% of the wealth one holds over a whole year], Sawm/Roza in Ramadaan [1 month per year] and Hajj [pilgrimage to Makkah, once in a lifetime if one is able].

more Muqhaddim Javad Stupid news from CNN-ibn. Everything I see around me is contrary to your reposting.

The older generation of Muslims was secular while the younger generation is extremely pro-islamic. This is not the case only with India but around the world. Forget the Mullahs. No one listens to them anymore.

You only have to come into mosques to see the number of young men and women flocking towards it. Islam is gaining strength day by day. Your reporting is totally wrong. This shows that your channel is all hype and fell the pulse of the nation and of muslims specially.

Seema I wonder how u cud publish 2 articles on consecutive days to arouse so much furore among people of a community. Yest, u mentioned that "for most of the Muslim World, Laden is still the hero"?? which was so very offensive and today, u bring out an article of hw Muslims are trying to change bcoz of the fear of being Muslims. The generalization itself in ur article yest wud make one think so much hw the world wud perceive Muslims to be and then very ironically, u publish an article of how Muslim youth are being compelled to change bcoz of existing circumstances. Its like u r one hand , trying to sow the seed of thought and then on the other hand, trying to depict the outcome of what wud happen if one starts thinking on those lines. The whole or most of the Muslim world doesnt agree with Laden's acts for sure & moreover, the change coming about in a normal Muslim youth out of fear is a personal thing. I dont think a Muslim has to prove he is one among everybody by adopting the idea of "social drinking". There are other ways to be "ultra modern and cosmopolitan" without resorting to such ways. Why bring religion into everything?

abhishek.ji.verma taslima nasreen commenting on Surayya Das, she has realized that Islam is a religion which doesnt give equality to women. She is now imprisoned in the cage of Islam. She has to break the cage and come out. She should be able to live as she has desired. She should be given an opportunity for that.

Chandan It's a pity that people of one religion are being branded this way. Muslims are being targeted as terrorists across the globe and in agitation, Muslims are doinf things, which is creating more toruble for them. They can only clean this image by showing that Islam is tolerant. Muslims need to be cautious in their actions. People who workship terrorist like Osama are only maligning the image of Islam. 9/11 and other attacks across the world have created this image and I am not sure what can they do to, but I am sure, if they remain tolarent and not get carried on by terrorist, image of Muslims should change.
