Rajeev Tivari Well said. You deserve to be afraid of her! Because she is known for her scorn for people like you. Who are topped up of ideas- of all kind- just ideas. Who think it is about them only- even if they are on an assignment from a foreign channel preparing for a more lucrative posting in their “home countries”. More so as currently you might probably be working in the state ruled by her.

You would have grown wiser to the fact that election is a game of pure mathematics, above anything else. It is true about any state of India. Because the people who are affected by the “development” done or not done by any party in government, care too hoots for voting. “Come on who’s gonna stand in the queue in the scorching April sun to cast a “single vote”.”

They demand more franchise because they pay more taxes than the illiterate farmer in Balia who has equal right when it comes to voting-a fact rued by many taxpayers-sometimes including yours truly. But this is alright as that poor fellow has only this string to pull and make himself count. Unlike us. Committing suicides is another means which puts him on national news, though.

So Mayavati played her mathematics very well this time. Only a leader who can serve her own interest can be looked up to for serving a bigger purpose.

Then when such “middle-class, educated, metro-bred, Christian-education raised, young the backbone of the knowledge, entreneurial economy” who do not even dare to vote, what right do they have to crib about Mayavati coming to power. She has achieved unachievable by getting a clear majority in the state ruled for ages by self-destructive shaky coalitions from whom getting a single decision on any matter was tough call.
